I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling 22 (minutes of movement)!

The Feeling 22 (Minutes of Movement) Challenge is a guided movement challenge where together, we’ll do 22 minutes of movement, everyday for 22 days!

Hi! I’m Jessi

I’m a Certified Personal Trainer (and Registered Dietitian) and I specialize in helping folks redefine their relationship with exercise. I take a Health at Every Size™ (or HAES™ for short) approach to health. The HAES™ approach conceives health as a resource available to everyone, and believes that pursuing health is neither a moral imperative nor an individual obligation. This approach focuses more on engaging in health promoting behaviors versus focusing on the outcome of weight loss or weight management.

So, why 22 minutes?

The general recommendation for exercise touted by organizations like the CDC, WHO, and the American Heart Association is 150 minutes of moderate intensity exercise/week. This is the amount that emerged from the research as being correlated with a reduction in all cause morbidity and mortality, which is a fancy way of saying reducing disease risk and increasing longevity.

And if you’re anything like me, 150 minutes might sound like an overwhelming amount of exercise, especially if you’re just getting started or returning after a long break. But it’s actually roughly 22 minutes/day!

All this to say, you don’t have to do hours of vigorous exercise everyday for it to have a positive impact on your health. In fact, the expectation that you need to do more might actually be holding you back from having a healthy, long-term relationship with exercise and movement.

Does this sound like you?

If I can't exercise for an hour, then I might as well not do it at all.

When I plan to exercise, it often feels like too big of a task or chore.

I never feel like I’m “doing enough” when I exercise. I feel like if it’s easy, it doesn’t “count”.

I struggle to “stick” with exercise. I’ll be consistent for a little, then “fall off track”.

If you’re someone who frequently swings between all-or-nothing phases (or thinking) around exercise, chronically struggles with maintaining a manageable and enjoyable movement practice, or never quite feels like you’re doing “enough” when it comes to exercise, this challenge was designed just for YOU!

How does the challenge work?

Once you sign up for the challenge below (it’s free!) you’ll receive a welcome email from me with all the deets + an optional tracker to use. The tracker will include movement inspo for every day of the challenge, but of course you can choose any form of movement or exercise you most enjoy!

Then, starting May 29, 2024 you’ll receive a daily email from me (for 22 days) with a more in depth description of the movement inspo for the following day. Some will be short video clips with suggested exercises, and others will be an idea to make your own (i.e. choose your own outdoor adventure).

Perfection is NOT the goal. If you miss a day or two or five… that’s OK. The goal is to PRACTICE carving out a small amount of time to move every day. We’re working on building momentum and creating positive experiences around movement and exercise.

So, are you in?
